Our Works
Remar Tema Children's Home - Library Project
Remar Tema Children’s Home is located in Ghana, West Africa, with 26 bright and eager children being cared for by 6 dedicated staff members. Our current focus is to turn an unused space, in dire need of repair, into a vibrant and enriching library for these children.
This project centres around Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education. Quality education is one of the key 17 SDGs as there are many areas around the globe, where basic education standards are not met. In Ghana, it is estimated that only 71% of children in Ghana complete their primary education. Even if there are educational facilities at all, most of them are often sub-standard.
With this project also, Boafo Pa aims to define new ways of establishing libraries in the country, with regards to design, functionality & sustainability.
The social impact of this project goes beyond the residents of the orphanage. There are children in nearby schools and communities that can also visit and use the library. Overtime, it is expected that the library will evolve to be a community hub and will continue to deliver value for its users as well as generate funds that the managers of the orphanage can rely on for the continuous upkeep of the children
